It's all about this now.........

It can all be done as fast as we can raise the money.

YOU CAN HELP

email any enquiries to

 savestjohnschurch@hotmail.co.uk

The St John's Church Building is now Grade II listed. We have a Steering Group set up with the Archdeacon of Dudley. What we have to do now is RAISE THE MONEY for restoration and re-opening to take place.

When the church was closed in 2002 it was written off as unsafe and of no architectural or historic interest.
It is now shown through subsequent surveys to be safe and repairable and through the listing process to be of national historic and architectural interest.

DONATIONS OF WEEDKILLER NEEDED

Image
We have followed the advice received very carefully and we now need to start spraying our Japanese Knotweed. We only intend to clear the areas actually stopping access to graves as the birds and butterflies love this plant.

The products we need are anything containing Glyphosate:

The best one is Bayer Super Strength Glyphosate but that is quite difficult to obtain.
The expert at Bayer has very kindly told us that the following will also do the job: Any own brand glyphosate or super glyphosate eg from B&Q, Homebase, Wilkinsons.

Glyphosate is the ideal product as children and pets do not need to be excluded from the area as soon as it is dry (only a few minutes on a warm day) and biodegrades into the soil allowing immediate replanting.

These are expensive products and it will help us a lot if people will purchase a pack and donate to us. We need absolutely loads.  Please drop off at Tiwana in High View Street, open seven days 9am to 10pm and leave us a note of your name and email and/or address. Or post to our usual address or if you are local we will arrange for someone to pick up from you.

Many thanks for helping with this, it will all help to keep our funds intact towards the building repairs.
