Save St John's Church YOUNG SUPPORTER
YOUNG SUPPORTERS
St John's Church Preservation Group is extremely keen to welcome Young Supporters from the ages of 6-17 years. At 18 they become adult members with voting rights but can still stay involved with the Young Supporters as helpers.
Young Supporters will have the opportunity to shadow the adults in Preservation Group work, and will be encouraged to develop their own ideas including fundraising ideas.
Young Supporters are the FUTURE of the Preservation Group and we urge grown ups to encourage their children and grandchildren to get involved.
JULIE PUGH has agreed to take on the role of schools liaison and will be talking to local schools, youth organisations and colleges about setting up website links to this page and to Young Supporters both in and out of schools and college for their ideas and input.
Julie is already well know in the area through her involvement with the well known Pedmore Panthers cheerleaders

We also have a young volunteer who has offered to head up the Young Supporters section of the St John's Church Preservation Group.
Melissa Dunn aged 16 years organised her own school prom, was Chair of the Student Council and is a keen amateur actor. She has undertaken to help the younger members run fundraisers and whatever else they might want to get involved with, and has already recruited her friends to help.
Melissa will work closely with Julie to develop the Young Supporters section.
We expect other Young Supporters to come forward to take leadership roles in organising events, leaflet drops, promotions, with full support from Julie, Melissa and other committee members.
Our YOUNGEST MEMBER SO FAR IS 6 years old - he says his Nan and Grandad are buried in the churchyard and he wants to be able to go into the church for a cup of tea.
This whole Preservation Group movement was started off by Dwayne Morgan aged 10 years who put the first petition sheets in Tiwana store in High View Street. Grown ups have had to pick up the idea and run with it but the move to save the church was started by a YOUNG SUPPORTER.
